Hi, I have a manuel 2003 SLK 320 with a problem I cant seem to fix. While driving the odometer starts flashing start error. Then their is a sudden lose of power and i am unable to acclerate. The brakes continue to work fine but the steering wheel becomes very difficult to turn, almost as if the power steering has turned off. Sometime if i immeditly let off the gas the car corrects itself, other times i am forced to pull over and turn the car off. My mechanic said that when he hooked the car up to the computer it said that "communication between the transmission and the engine stopped" he also said that its impossible for communicatin to stop given that the car is a stick. If anyone has any experience with this problem or any ideas as to afix it would be greatly appericated.

 

first we need to know the repair history of the car. what has been replaced and done.

ask the mechanic for the fault code so we can analyze. all fault codes.

yours is a rare problem. i never heard of a steering wheel becomes that difficult to turn.
