Stalling in wet
Hi, I recently bought a well maintained 1986 300E. It runs great, except in wet conditions. In wet it dies at traffic lights, even when warmed up. My mechanic thinks it can be the distributor. Any ideas please?
Thanks for the 2 responses. The car also starts very difficult or not at all in very humid weather; and keeps on stalling when stopping at lights. This means it cannot be water accumulating; it is caused by high humidity. Any ideas?? |
RE: Stalling in wet

RE: Stalling in wet
Exactly what I was thinking. Water in the engine or blocking air from getting in.

RE: Stalling in wet
Probably too late in the game to help you much, but I had a similar problem with a U>S> made car several years ago, turned out to be a cracked distributor cap.
