slk "Low Coolant" light coming on
 

hi,

last week the low coolant indicator light on the dash came on. I quickly went and picked up a 50/50 mixture to refill the coolant. When the car was cooled down, i opened up the fill cap and began to fill. I put in only about 4 oz of coolant. The light continues to periodically come on then turn itself back off, then on again. the car is not running hot and the coolant level is not low. I don't see any leakage and i didn't even fill it up as there was plenty of coolant in there. considering i put in only 4 oz of coolant and the car holds 4 qts, what could be going on with the car?

Oops, forgot to put what type of car. the car is a 230 SLK, 4 cyl super charged. Thanks!

If fluid level is correct then next suspect is the sensor in the tank.

Level Sensor changed - no change
 

I have a E-Class 1999 model and experience the same indications. The light still comes on, even after I put in a new level sensor. I recognized the light only comes on in combintion with the AC beeing on and the coolant temperature above 70deg. The light, once on will not go out when I turn off the AC. Has anyone run across the same problem and was able to fix it? If so, I am very thankfull for your help.
