Shudders when put in gear
 

Hello everyone. I'm new to your forums as I just recently purchased a 97 C230 for my wife. It has 114k miles on it and was very well taken care of. It runs and drives excellent except for an annoying shudder when it's in gear with the brake on. As soon as I give it gas, the shudder is gone. No hesitation, shifts smooth. Come to a stop, shudders. Park or neutral, no shudder. New motor and transmission mounts. Any suggestions where to look next?

I would say engine mounts but you say they are new. Are the motor mounts OEM or aftermarket? There is the possibility that one is loose or that they are installed improperly. I have a '99 c230 k and the left and right mounts are different part numbers I think. I would also make sure the idle speed is up to spec. The only other thing I have seen to cause this is a torque converter not slipping but this is pretty rare.
