RE: Seat Springs Help

You can buy a spring and a pad at the stealership. The two should cost you about $200 if I'm not mistaken. Changing it is just time consuming, but fairly simple.
I did this on my 300sd. What a difference!!! I highly recommend this repair.

RE: Seat Springs Help

There is another thing that you can try short of purchasing a new pad and associated parts. Go to a place that sells fabric and buy some 3" jute webbing. Remove the seat and bottom upholstery (take your time - a good idea is to have a digital camera handy and take pictures of how it comes apart) and then attach the jute to one side of the wire seat frame and weave above and below the springs, then fasten at the opposite side with upholstery "hog rings". Then do the next row, starting in the opposite pattern as the first row. That is, if you went over and then under on the first row, then go under and over for the second. Repeat this until you have covered the entire spring area. You'll find that this will reinforce the springs by allowing them to help each other out by distributing the load and will give you renewed support.
