S500 gearbox compatibility
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if Merc ever fitted a ZF auto transmission behind the S500 type 119 V8? I am looking at fitting this engine, from a '97 model into a P38 Range Rover and the availability of a suitable bell housing would greatly assist in the conversion. I would guess that the 4.2l 119 uses the same bell housing arrangement as the 5.0l. The RR uses a ZF 4HP 24.
