I've recently purchased a 2000 s500. Has been working fine until last night...cannot get the fuel door to unlock and (although I've searched, as per the manual) am unable to locate the manual release for the fuel filler door. I have the picture from the manual, but still can't locate the release. I have all of the interior carpet pulled out from the right side of the trunk and can visualize the fuel door area, but I don't see the release. How big is it? I don't want to just go in there and start pulling on things. Please help -- need to fuel up before work!!

***now i think we've found the manual release, but the door STILL won't open. any suggestions???
