S320 K38 starter lockout relay
I have a 1999 S320 that has an intermittent start problem.
Based upon information I have received, I suspect that I can start the car when this condition occurs if I can force the K38 relay to close. Per the documentation I have, the K38 relay is located on the center console just adjacent to the accelerator pedal, behind the kick panel. Does anyone know how to remove this kick panel?? RE: S320 K38 starter lockout relay
That panel isnt really too easy to remove..
You might try this.. It takes two hands.. Next time it won't start, HOLD the key in the start position and move the gear selector from park to neutral and see if it starts or tries to start.. If so the neutral safety switch might be going bad.. |

Hi, John. I have a2002 S430 doing the same thing. The Carsbad MB dealer said the was a hard falt in the gear shifter selector assembly. $1100.00 later it did the same thing driving it out of the shop. Did you find the real problem?
