RPM problems

Here is my problem. I bought a 2001 SLK 230 a few weeks ago. This is my first MB. I am having a problem with the rpm bouncing around on me. It only happens when you are trying to stay at a certian speed. The rpm does not go very high, maybe a hundred rpm give or take, but it is enough to feel and worry me. It can happend between 30mph-80mph, but only once you are trying to hold that speed. During acceleration, everything is fine. There are no "check engine" lights on, and gas mileage is still the same. Can someone help this lil noob

RE: RPM problems

Hi,

Trying to hold you speed with the accelerator manually with your foot or using cruise?

mileage, auto/manual, last serviced etc info may be helpful?

RE: RPM problems

It will do it using cruise and with me controlling it with the pedel. She just rolled over 70000, automatic and had a complete tune up at 50k said nothing was wrong. I really hope its something simple like a stopped up filter or bad gas. Knowing my luck the transmission is about to die.[:'(]
