Replacement of Battery & Tires.. In Need Of URGENT Advice!!
Hello,
I am moving to from the East to the West Coast <therefore the URGENT at top> and am getting a complete turn-up on my Mercedes SLK. I got a quote from my Mercedes dealership that it would be $340 to replace the battery and $866 to replace the tires (Michelin).
Now, my friend (who knows much more about cars than I do) advises that do not have these 2 things done by the dealership and instead - go buy (Yokohama instead of Michelin) tires and battery elsewhere and have it installed at half the price.
Please tell me - is it a big NO-NO to have work done anywhere else other than a Mercedes dealership? Or does it not matter?
Any & all information is greatly appreciated. Thank you
