I live in Chicago/North Center and I own a 1979 Mercedes 450 SL. I'm looking for a good repair shop any recommendations?

 

Hi, I'm in Lake Zurich and do all my repairs but when I replaced engine in my 1980 280se it was running fine but I take it to Motorwerks MB dealer in Barrington to have them check my timing and air/fuel mixture settings. They were unable to work on it because it is Euro model with no catalitic components. Then I found old German guy and his son, Hessen Auto Repair at 2275S. Mt Prospect Rd. Des Plaines IL. 60018 (847)297-7777 very knowlidgeable people with reasonable prices working on German made cars: Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi. My German uncle closed his shop on Western and Peterson about 10 years ago, otherwise I would send you there to Gartner Auto.
