Rear Suspension

The other day I noticed that when looking at my car from the rear that the rear wheels tilt inward at the top. Like this:

It is a 1982 500SL European. I don't have a steady mechanic right now so I'm trying to get educated before taking it to someone new. Thanks for all replies!

RE: Rear Suspension

This is known as negative camber.
This is typical of cars with independent rear suspension.
Nt sure what the camber setting is on the rear of your model (the garage should be able to tell you this if nobody on the forum answers).
Camber gets greater as the back end of the car drops eg. Heavy load. need to ensure that your ride height is correct (distance from ground to underside of wing/fender. Should also be equal both sides.
If this is low then your rear springs could have gone "weak" with age.

hope this helps.
Stuart
