rear door wont open from inside or out

Default rear door wont open from inside or out
I just purchased a 1997 420 S and the rear, driver's side door wont open. Both levers seem to work OK but I can't open the door at all. Worse yet, the door is closed so I can't take off the door panel.

Any suggestions. I could really use some good help.
