Rear door not locking
 

I have a 1996 E300D and the problem I have is when I activate the door locks with the key fob, all the knobs on the doors go down as they should, but I can still open the rear passenger side door, this sets the alarm off..............I tried several times I cannot lock it with central locking.
Any ideas on whats wrong.
