Radar Detectors

Hi,

I want a radar detector, but I don't want to spend $399 on a Valentine One.

Does anyone have any suggestions or knowledge to share on this topic?

Thanks
Evan

You want to buy my 9-sensors Cobra?
After driving for 3000 miles with both, Cobra and Valentine, I consider the $400 for Valentine a bargain and $100 for Cobra money down the drain.

The cheapest one is not speeding and getting a ticket?

You can buy the 8500 X50 on eBay for $240. It's an excellent value at that price. I've got the V1 and the X50 and a few others. The V1 and the X50 are very good.

With present fuel prices why don't you just ride a bicycle, or take a hike?

You mean, I should to it in off topic section?
I might overreact, but RV forum is full of people screaming "slow down, slow down"
I can understand that most of them are retired and the only worry they might have is how to kill the time tomorrow, but I am active person and have lot of things to do.
Right now from my residence to my project I have 490 miles, How long it would take me to do it driving 55?
My average so far is 6.5 hr of driving + 1 hr for fueling and dinner. That include beating LA traffic at night.

a piece of cake for you inside the comfort of your car.

they said (i don't know who) that an average person can drive for 8 hours with no problem. i hate long time driving. 5 hours in a day is enough for me. my ball joints are getting rusty.

V1. 'Nuf said.

People in Massachusetts, where wiztard is from, make their own driving rules. They're usually the opposite of what you expect and lean heavily towards being rude and dangerous. Be very careful if you find yourself driving up there until you get used to their rules. And, don't believe anyone who grew up in New England when they say they drive carefully. They're all maniacs behind the wheel.
