"overdue maintenance" reminder
Just wondering if anyone knows how to reset the " overdue maintenance" reminder that comes on every time you start the car. It is a 2006 C280. Thank you..........

"Flexible Service System" (FFS) message reset sequence
I hope this works for you. It's straight out of my car's "Owner's Manual." It applies to the wrench symbol that appears on the main digital odometer display field, indicating service is suggested. Apparently this is the "FSS."
Just reset this w/my buddy at Valvoline after an oil change. It took us three or four tries because it's a complex, timed sequence.... but it worked. "The counter can also be reset by any individual. To do so: 1. Turn key in steering lock to Position 2. (I think this is the accessory-only position) 2. Within 4 seconds press Button 1 twice. (indicated in picture as a button to the lower left of the speedometer - I think this is also the trip reset button) 3. The present status for days or distance is displayed. Within 10 seconds turn key in steering lock to Position 0. (I think this is the turned totally off, ready-to-take-your-key-out position) 4. Press and hold Button 1, while turning key in steering lock to Position 2 again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more. Continue to hold Button 1. After approximately 10 seconds (I think it might have been a little longer, no more than 20 secs) a signal sounds, and the display shows 10 000 mile for approximately 10 seconds. 5. Release Button 1." Hope that does the trick, and it saves you a mechanic billing at $100 an hour to do it. |
C230 Sport AMG Service B message
2007 C230 Sport, Automatic
I get this message that the Service B Exceeded By 476 Days. It is the message with the two wrenches. I followed the instruction on this forum and was not able to reset it. Has anyone else had to do this with this model? |
key in postion 2, cluster screen on service due screen, push and hold knob on cluster until it says 'to reset press button again' then push again and it should reset.
