Default Old C Class MB C180!

Hi,
There is a lot of them, I know! (C180) My one' is from 1994!, and first now I stared to have some problems.. I live in Norway, and it happend to be a real winter here!!! (snow and ice, somebody knows??). Well, when the weather is like this they put salt on the road...WELL, LET ME STOP, or I could write a book about it:
I changed my rusty/leaking fuel line, and at the same time the fuel-filter. - I had to take off the battery pole prior to do this work regarding to the manuals. After the dirty job was done, I put the battery back, and the engine was not ideling (as normally after had the battery off for a while). Normally my Merc. should idle nice after a while, but this time it did it only after some hours of driving. Then after that it happent just randomly that if it was idling or not. I then deside to take of the battery for a while and put it back again (like a "reset"). After that last time, it will not idle at all!! I now live with a car that wont idle (actually I've adjusted the throttle to idle when its warm, but thats not correct!). What has to be done? Which sensor is gone, and what has to be done??

Any Help???

Best regards,

Arildo

Smile 1994 C180 ECU reset...

Well,
Since nobody bather to reply on my first message, I reply my self: I took the merc to a dealer, and they had to re-enter the basic motor controller with default value. No it idle again!
Since then, (this was a half year ago) I decided to take the top of the engine, because it had a problem to run in the Norwegian summer heat! The reason for I took the big job on this was an oil leak from the top (in syl #1) and also that water "dissappear". I found out that the top had been off this car before, and the peuple that did this before me did'nt do a good job. The top was not stright.
No everything is back on, and it runs finally "perfect!" (it has turned 280'km)

Well good for you! I bet you learned a lot doing the repairs. You will be a Benz expert in no time. Good luck with your "new" car!

Default Mercedes lovers!

So, you got a chassi and boddy same as my 450! 420 got the same engine block I guess! ...of course I spent a little bit more money on rear tyres than you, but still almost the same car! Do you by the way have any idea from where I can get a wiring diagram for the vacuum hoses around the car???
