i have a 1988 300 se an it has started leaking oil around the head in front of the engine on the right side = the man at the benz shop said it was coming from the head gasket= could that be it or could it be coming from the timing cover , also how much would be a fair price to r and the head ? thanks

 

zipper, 9 out of ten times its the head gasket. there is a seal that leaks on the upper cover gasket, agood cleaning will helpnarrow it down. but i have replaced the seal on a few that i swore the head gasket was ok and guess what...still leak. LOL! price will vary depending on mileage, condition, shop rate, and needed parts.
