RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
You will waste your money on the universal one. Buy the OE. Also I have found that if one goes bad then the other won't be far behind. I replace all of them. But if you have a known good one replace the first one in the exhaust and reset your codes and drive it. If it comes back on the move it to the next one and so on.

RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
If you have a bad O2 sensor the CEL should turn on. Most auto parts stores will read OBDII codes for free. That will tell you which one is bad.

RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
Except for Kragen because it's (this according to a Kragen employee) against the law in California now.

RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
You're saying it's against the law to read OBDII codes in CA? It's against the law in CA to diagnose a problem with your car using the system that was designed to help diagnose problems with your car? That doesn't make any sense. Or, am I misunderstanding your point?

RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
I know that where I live in California, Kragen's has NEVER checked any codes for free or otherwise. AutoZone however used to do it for free until recently. Not sure if it's a new law or not, but apparently, the Auto Shops complained that AutoZone (and perhaps others) were "stealing" their business, so the local AutoZone here decided to stop doing it. Not sure if they all stopped or not. They will however rent you the tool to do it yourself. You pay full price for the tool (a rental deposit), take it out and check out codes, then bring it back in and they give you your money (deposit) back. Soon the rental companies will be after them too ... LOL When will the insanity end ????? Hope this helps |

RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
when sleepwalker goes to california, he will check everything for free.
|
RE: O2 SENSOR PROBLEM
Well, that makes sense. It's NOT against any law. Our "free" enterprise system merely made an adjustment.
