no signal from diagnostic socket
Hello everyone,
My 1996 E-320's diagnostic socket seems to be dead. I first became aware of this problem when I took the car in for inspection. At first I thought it could have been a problem with the diagnostic tool so I took the car to Autozone and there tool was unable to do a diagnostic. The tool had just kept saying 'Linking...' What are my chances of it being a blown fuse? Or other simple fix? Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks. |
RE: no signal from diagnostic socket
you got two diagnostic socket?
use the one for HHT and not OBD. |
RE: no signal from diagnostic socket
Has the socket worked previously? Have the pins in the socket been damaged by whoever last used the socket? Need to look at the pins in the socket very carefully to ensure they have not been prised apart too far. |
RE: no signal from diagnostic socket
I bought the car used about 3 years ago and I am not sure if the socket has ever worked. I looked at the pins in the socket and they seemed to be fine(not prised apart too far) . I will use a pair of tweezers and press them back together later today.
The other poster stated that the car has two diagnostic sockets. Do you know where the other one is located? Much thanks |
RE: no signal from diagnostic socket
Where would I find the other diagnostic socket?
Thanks |
