New owner seeking help
I am new to the forums and I am the proud new owner of a Mercedes Benz 420 SEL, and I am also proud to say that this is also my first car. Granted, the car is older than I am, I'm dedicated to transforming this into a fine piece of machinery before the end of summer, not that it isn't already. But I have some questions I want to ask the general population here.
The first being where the heck can I find a repair manual for a 1987 420 SEL? Before I can do any work on my car, I'd love to have this, so if anyone knows where I can get one, of if any of you can sell me one, I'll greatly appriciate it.
Next, my car occasionally has a high idle and also smells really rich as soon as I turn the car over. I was told this could be because of a bad cooling sensor, is this true? And if so, is this going to be hard to fix?
Also, as soon as I put my car in gear, it drives without having to hit the gas. Is this also because of the cooling sensor allowing more gas into the engine than needed?
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this forum, and if you can answer my questions, I'd greatly appriciate it. Thanks.
