Hello, I would use the mercedes fluid part # 001 989 21 03 10
you will need around 4 qts...unless you drain the torque converter then you will need about 8 qts.

Hi Tony, Welcome to the site; I shall be one of the many with questions for you. I drive a 1990 560sel, so far so good. Last week the heat went out on me. I noticed that the temp gage was below the 80C mark, so off I went and replaced the thermostat. Now, when operating at higher speeds, the air temperature blowing out is cold, is there a sensor or something I'm missing? I'd appreciating any help you can give, it's getting cold in northeast Ohio.

Thanks

Hi Tony,

I am a new member here as well. I have a 1988 300 E that has been sitting for about 1.5-2 years. With very few starts. I put a new battery in it and it sounds like it wants to catch when starting but won't catch without some starter spray. I also put clean fuel and fuel treatment in it. My next step was going to be to replace the fuel filter. Can you tell me where it is? I don't see it too plainly. And if you have any other ideas of what to check, I would be very greatful.

Thanks much & Happy Holidays!

Tom

Hi Tony!
I have a question for you. I own a 1979 240D which needs axle joint boots; however, I've discovered I can replace the complete axle assmblies cheaper. I've searched and found on parts websites there are two types of axles for my car, a 8mm homokinetic joint axle and an annular joint axle. I think there is some type of modification I have to make in order to use the annular joint axle; however i'm not sure and I'm not sure what the modification is. The 8mm homokinetic joint axles are in the $125 range and the annular joint axles are in the $405 range. $125 sounds really cheap, in your opinion, is it a quality product or a piece of junk. Thanks in advance for any insight you may give to me.
