New here with a starting problem

Hi,

I am a new owner of a 2001 E320 that I am really happy to own. The car is great. I have never owned one before and I finally did what I always wanted to do and went out and bought me a Mercedes. I have had it for about two months.

So far the only thing that has me a bit bummed is the car is now sitting in the garage. I can't start the car! Everything works like I would expect it to except when I turn the key to start, absolutely nothing. It is like there is no power going to the starter. I have lots of battery so I know that is not the problem.

I would love to get back on the road anf enjoy the ride. Any ideas?

Thanks,

CJ

How do you know for sure you have lots of battery power? MB batteries made and installed during that period are notoriously bad.

Have you tried jump starting with a known good power source?

Most owners mistakenly take bright headlights and loud horn as good battery power though their batteries do not have enough cranking power.

( There may be other things wrong in the car, but "would not crank" usually is caused by a weak battery. )

Major Fly is right, all you need is a Good battery and your problems will be solved. MB did recall those battries but you are most likely past the recall. (sorry) Keep the car, although these cars have small issues they are really worth it in the long run!
