New Here, looking at 88 300E
 

Hi everyone,

I want to invest in this vehicle but am not sure what I should expect. What's been the general consenus with this model year? It has 125k on it, and their asking 5k.

I would say the asking price is at max for year and mileage, but if it has all service records, serviced regularly such as oil changes etc. and it is really clean, no rust or dents, like near brand new inside and out, good tires, garage kept is a plus, it may be worth 5K.

For that price, I would have your mechanic look it over real well.

Generally, 125K is still younger for that 300E if maintained properly and it might be a good buy. But if it is not cherry, I would offer them less!

I have an 89 and it has been well taken care of though but they run great for a long time if it has been maintained all of it's life. Don't expect to take it to your shade tree mechanic though. They don't have any specs on how to work on it. 5K seems reasonable if it is good shape.

Thanks for the info. I went to go test drive it and loved it. So I picked it up!! has minor dings and scrapes but they can be dealt with and forgotton. The owner picked it up for 3200 and put some work in it. Looks very nice. I will post pics very soon.
