middle console lights
 

does anyone know how to pop of the wooden colored middle console where the shfter is on my '99' ml320? the light switches for the windows and mirrors are burnt out and i need to replace the bulb under it, but idont want to break anything. any help.

take out the storage compartment in the armrest. then pry up the wood where it meets the wood...remove the plastic trim around the shifter too it just pops up. youll have to pry up hard on the wood to unlatch it.

does the storage compartment just pop out?, i tried pullin up on it fairly hard, but i didnt knwo if it would break or not b/c ididnt know if that was how to do it?

2 screws in the bottom, or two push pins that you push threw the floor and youll never see them again.

tx, the 2 screws were kinda hidden in teh carpet lining., i then popped off the wooden panel, i think i saw a few other plastic parts fly off as well as i pulled, but hey the light got changed and the panel is backed on,, possibly minus a couple small black plastic peices. hehe :) ts again.
