Does anyone know where to find a key code for a Mercedes 1998 SL500?

From what I've read, you would have to contact Mercedes directly to get one. Other members may chime in with their experience.

I talked with a foreign car mechanic and he said to put the key in the ignition for about ten minutes and let it re-sync. And it worked.
