How to replace MAF?
Is the MAF on a 2000 E320 something that is easy or hard to repair by yourself? If anyone has any suggestions or how-to steps, that would be appreciated?
Thanks, Greg |
RE: How to replace MAF?
:eek:Greg,
I am surprised that you have gotten no responses to this question. Regretfully, I have no answers for you but I do have a question: Why do you suspect a MAF problem? I had to replace a MAF in a 98 Volvo V70 last summer after progressively harder starts and frequent stalls at idle speed. Unfortunately, in the past week my 98 E320 has begun to intermittantly stall immediately after starting unless I am immediately on throttle. I suspect this is a dirty throttle valve or a MAF problem. I have had no codes read. What symptoms has your 2000 E320 had? |

i must have been on weekend.
it is easy to replace. pull up that air cleaner housing and you will see it on the rear part of the engine. |
RE: How to replace MAF?
Well,
In my case, I pulled the fault codes and found that one of the possible issues would be a faulty MAF. I took it to the dealer and that is what they determined as the culprit. Other than the "check engine" light, I noticed no other symptoms. Possibly slightly less gas mileage, but not drastic. |

Sleepwalker... Thanks, it sounds like it is fairly accessible. I appreciate the expert opinion. I like to have some idea of what I am getting myself into.
