Hello everybody, I have a 1974 450 SL, V8that idles at 1700 RPM until engine temp reaches 170 degrees, after that it idles at 750 Rpm. Can anyone tell me if the 1700 cold RPM is normal and if not what can I do about it? I have replaced the coolant temp sensor and the air cleaner temp sensor with no change. I don't think it needs to idle at 1700 when the Florida temp is 95 degrees. This engine has fuel injection.Thanks in advance.
