I was told today that that I needed to replace my tie rod ends on the ml320 to pass a Utah safety inspection.

I am considering doing the job myself to save 360 dollars!

Can anyone help with a few questions:

What is the difficulty of this job?

Do the inner tie rods need to be done at the same time.

There are sets of tie rod ends that are as low as 30-35 each at autohaus are they too cheap to work well?

I would be grateful for any special tips for removal and installation??

Does an alignment need to be done after instalation??
