So I was switching the windshield in my SL500, as it was cracked, and my worker, while cutting the old one out, cut the vin number and scratched it. I told him to leave it alone, but he went and got paint thinner and tried to clean it but ended up wiping the complete vin off, and since the vin is not punched in, idk what to do now?

IS there any way to repair this? Perhaps some kind of liquid or cleaner? I will not be able to get the car registered without getting this fixed.

i wouldnt worry about it...the VIN is on the door jam and also under the license plate.

 

also check under the hood on the radiator core support here is a production tag and on the hood also some have a tag near brakebooster . also check under carpet passanger side seat where the 2 peices of carpet meet just under the seat
