emissions light/slow acceleration
 

hi all

new on here but the wife's merc is playin up a bit and was looking 4 some thoughts on the following. its a 2004 C220 coupe. in the last fortnight the emissions light has been coming on temporarily and now seems to be on all the time. the car also spends half the time unable to accelerate quickly i.e feels like its getting into a high gear too early. I'm wondering (in my dodgy car mechanic knowledge) if the 2 could be linked i.e is the O2 sensor sensing too rich a mixture and subsequently not allowing a high fuel flow rate thereby stopping proper acceleration??
