Downshifting 4Matic
 

Can ANYONE tell me how to manually downshift my 2007 ML350 4Matic? Is it even possible? My column shifter only shows Park, Reverse and Drive. It would be nice to be able to select a lower gear when descending a moderate downhill grade instead using up my brakes all the time. Surely there is a way?

My wife's '16 E350 has "paddle shifters" behind the steering wheel; this permits manual up or down shifts.....and is the only way it can be accomplished.
Without "paddle shifters" I don't think it's possible....
