Looking for alternate alternators
Tired of replacing voltage regulators in the summer for my customers. Looking to up the amps to the 65 range. Has anyone successfully converted to a delco or similar, seemingly bullet-proof alternator? My knuckles can't handle all these less-than adequate bosch alternator die-offs. I've thought about using volkswagen alternators, but the casings are significantly larger, and wont fit between the frame rail and the block. But then again, maybe I can just use the 65 amp vr's from the vw alternator in the benz alternator? hmm... help?
