CS Button
Just got my mercedes today. Anyone tell me what the CS button next to the gear shifter is for, I cant tell it does anything when it is pressed, also the dealership never explained that the car was manual and automatic!! how does this work

I'm assuming you don't have the owners manual. The c is for comfort and the s is for sport. Basically a different shift patternwith thetiming and firmness of the shifts.

It is not so much a different shift pattern as it is a different take-off. In "s" it will take off in first gear like normal, in "c" it will take off in 2nd gear. It used to be s/w for summer/winter because it will provide better traction in 2nd during take-off because of slower initial wheel speed, therefore reducing wheel slippage in a snow/rain situation. The transmission is adaptive, therefore it does not need to change shift patterns.
