Default clk coupe seat realease

i have an 02 clk coupe that will allow me to let passengers in on the passenger side but the driver's side seat will not release when i pull the latch up. the headrest still goes down when i pull the latch up, but it wont let me pull the seat forward. any ideas?

remove the seat back cover on the back of the seat then you will see 2 black screw type adjusters on the cables, you need to tighten them a bit and also lube the latches on the hinges.

is the cables moving when you pull the handle?? there are 2 latches for the seat, one at each hinge on the backrest, they need to release at the same time, or one latch will still be latched. maybe broken cable?

when i pull the handle, the handle seems to havea lot less resistence than the working seat in the passenger side. the cable moves and the headrest goes down. i tightened those two adjusters on the cable but that didn't do it. how would I replace that cable?

Ive never replaced a cable on a seat like that butthe leather does have to be partially taken off and so do the hinges plastic trim on the seat back. I would mess with the cables again and turn the screws all the way in to release slack and then go from there, the cables are kind of annoying to get them right so both latches release correctly.
