Climate control problem
I've just changed my ride from C280 (1997) with always dripping L6 engine to c32 AMG (2002) and faced another problem...(((
It seams to be common thing on w203 that climate control is givin' a pain........
The problem is that even with the working AC my legs roasted by the hot air while on top it's cold, fresh air. Middle nozzles are also produsing the cold air but the thrust is very low even on the high fan rate.
I do suspect the flaps but I do not know how many there are, and which are responsible for above symptoms...
I also have a guide for front panel disassembly. Any one can advice where to look?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I did some researches this night over the maintenance manual... And came to conclusion that flaps could be an issue only with low thrust in the middle. But hot air, from bottom, both driver and passenger must be a something different. It produces the heat not even when A/C is working but even if the entire climate control is off.
sleepwalker looking forward for you suggestions.

RE: Climate control problem
Just got 99300TD and blows hot air from passenger side and right nozzle of console (toward the rear seats). I'm figuring it's those pneumatically controlled flapper valves which are relatively inexpensive. But, they are under dash on passenger side (actually it's the control panel, glove box as the dash is the slanted part of the floor boards). Am not a mechanic but am not totally unknowlegeable or un-handy with mechanicals. Any one care to add some advice? What is the AC-Can and how does one "initialize" it?
