i bought a 97 c230,my climate contro panel do not light up at night. asked 4 benz owners, 3 out4 said the same thing.one said at night it lights up.

 

If you turn on the lights, both the HVAC and radio and dash, console lights, will light up. You need a pair of radion pullers, either form your dealer of eBay to get the unit out and replace the bulb, as I assume it is replaceable?

 

the only bulb in the backlight is busted.

 

Yes it does light up.


Your backlight bulb is most likely blown.


You need to get the removal tools to pop it out. (Very inexpensive tools)

Once you slide out the unit, unplug connectors 2 & 3 then you should be able to see the bulb to change.
