Clicking from behind glove box - HELP
I am hoping someone will have some idea about what is going on with my car. It is a 1985 380 SE. I have replaced my battery a few weeks ago because it would just die while I was driving it. I still am dealing with the same thing and it seems the warmer it gets her in Las Vegas the more it acts up. Today I noticed a very quiet clicking noise coming from behind the glove box. I notice it after the car died and after a little experimenting it seemed that if I waited a few minutes until the clicking stopped, I could start the car with no problem. Of course a few blocks later it would die again. This evening I looked into the problem a little deeper. I made sure everything was off inside of the car. The car was not turned on. I had no keys in the ignition. When I opened the doorthe ligts on the dorr turned on and the the noise started again. I shut the door and after about a minute the clicking stopped. Once I opened the door back up the clicking came back. This caused me to look into the fuse box and what I found was that when I removed the fuse that controlled the door ligts, vanity lights, and other interior lights the noise was gone, even when I opened the door. I am no kind of mechanic and I know very little about cars. However this also becomes a problem because as soon as I walk into a repair place I feel like I will get taken advantage of because I am a girl. So, if anyone out there has any idea what this could be, please send me a reply. Also, the fuse that I removed also controlled a "warning moniter ter. 5" and the automatic antennae.

Thank you,
Kimberley
|
