I was a loyal BMW owner for the past 20 years I finally switched over last year to a brand new 2010 CL500 4matic and I just finished my second winter with car and am truly disappointement with my purchase. It seems that the 4MATIC system is not working correctly because whenever I go over 40 KM/H (yes I leave in Canada - 25 MPH for the US readers) the ABS and traction control take a good 4-5 seconds to react as oppose to the milliseconds on the BMWs I preveiously owned. I found this very surprising so I brought my car the Mercedes dealership and they ran their diagnostics test and I was told everything was fine. During the next snowstorm my CL500 4MATIC reacted the same way and again I was told by Mercedes that my 4MATIC system is working perfectly. I do not really beleive them anymore as the next day my car skidded into a sidewalk when I was turning a corner at low speeds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their 4MATIC, Traction control or ABS systems and if so how did you resolve it, or do you have any suggestions on what this problem can be. I am really frustrated as I like the look and comfort of the CL but if the safety is not there then what is point of owning or even recommending a Mercedes to anyone.
