Can any one tell me what this is?
 

Sorry but I'm working with my first 79 Mercedes 300sd. This piece broke and I am not sure on the name or where to find a new one. I've tried local auto parts stores and I've searched all over the web. Any help would be great, a part number would be better. thank you
