C320 A/C PROBLEM
 

i recently purchased a 2001 c320 sedan and love the car but am having an issue with the a/c not working correctly all the time, it blows cold air when it wants to and then blows only room temperture air once in a while[:@]. it seems to happen sometimes when i run the car and turn it off and start it back up. can someone help me please ?;)

try synchronizing the stepper motors first.

All troubleshooting must begin by "CHECKING THE BASICS".

POWER SUPPLY RELAYS Relays as well as their plug connections can be a source of intermittent operation.

MAINTENANCE Drive belts, coolant, and the receiver drier should be replaced at scheduled maintenance periods. Coolant and refrigerant levels must be correct. Maintenance to prevent restricted air flow at the radiator and condenser, and the interior air inlet and outlets should be should be performed.

BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE Batteries in a state of partial discharge can have a dramatic effect on ACC control units and related components.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE/CONNECTION INTEGRITY A poor "common" ground point will cause seemingly unrelated systems to influence one another. High current systems which encounter a poor "common" ground can back feed through other electrical systems causing unusual operation and perhaps inexplicable component failure.

Also an engine in poor running order may cause the vacuum system of the A/C, ACC or TCC system to operate sporadically.

Has it been tuned up recently ?

In your case it sounds like a door flap is not opening as it should.

I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I TURN OFF THE /AC AND THEN TURN OFF MY CAR AND WHEN I COME BACK IN AND TURN ON THE CAR AND THEN TURN THE A/C ON T WORKS GREAT , BUT IF I FORGET TO TURN IT OFF BEFORE I GET OUT OF THE CAR AND GO AWAY, OHHHH BOY [:@]DOES IT SUCK TO COME BACK IN AND NOTHING BUT HOT AIR BLOW IN YOUR FACE. [:o]

I HOPE THAT HELPS SOMEONE BE ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE CAR:D

hey i emailed another guy this as well, i had a 2000 clk430 and i started to have air problems, it would turn off and on, they tld me i had to replace the blowers and spend over a grand, so i took it to my guy, and all he did was replace some 60 dollar part that was located under the glove box i think it was a switch or some type of module and my air worked perfectly, what im saying is try that first before u go blowing a grand on a new ac. greg

The Evap temp sensor will do this..Its cheap and VERY easy to replace!
