Question C280 Low Beams burning out frequently

Hi,

Not sure if anyone has experienced the same problem on their C280 models. Mine is a 2007 C280 Avante Garde and in the last 6 months the low beam lights have burned out 3 times. The bulbs were replaced with expensive ($30) SilverStar bulbs but the problem persists.

I have an appointment at a Mercedes dealer to check whether its a problem with the car's electrical system. In the meantime I am doing some research in case they say its not a car issue.(they indicated that its probably a bulb problem although I changed the bulbs 3 times, so I sense that they will try to blame the light bulbs)
I contacted the bulb maker, SilverStar, and they guarantee that their bulbs don't burn out in 2 months and is definitely a car problem.

Thanks

Bulbs will fail prematurely if you touch the glass with fingerprints during installation but usually not this early. I would suspect an overcharging issue possibly.

My 2002 C230 Sport Coupe had this issue. A new wiring harness from an ML solved the problem. Dealer did the work under warranty. I agree about not touching the glass on the bulb but in my case I used a cloth and never touched them.
