I have a c220d that has never started well from cold. The heater plug light only comes on after the car has started and then goes off after about 2 or 3 minutes. Is this a problem with the heater plugs themselves or something to do with a heat sensor.</P>

 

I had this problem on my C220 CDi , though it didn't affect starting. The plug light stays on for a bit if one or more heater plugs are defective.

 

I had the same problem with my c220d, I have changed all the glow plugs the light has gone but still having problems with the starting in the morning especially. one of the mechanics told me that it could be relay.
