Default Backup Battery replacement for 2003 E320

I took my 2003 E320 in for service and to have the "visit workshop" message check with battery indicator. MB Dealer checked and said the backup battery will have to be replaced. Is there a option for having the backup batteryreplaced with another brand other than MB?

I also have the same problem on my "03" E320 and found that your local Centennial battery distributor does have the battery for less than $100. Dealer quoted me around $250 for what is really nothing more than a motorcycle battery

Regarding replacement battery, I did find one at Centennial Battery at around $50.00. It is an exact replacement, a motorcycle battery. Good luck

ok i will only say this once.........BUY THE BATTERY FROM BENZ...this battery is not a backup battery. it is the battery for your SBC (Sensitronic Brake Control) YOUR BRAKES. Also ask the dealer to make sure your software is up to date on the pump/control unit. They had problems with these and if it requires replacment because it can not program it will be covered under warranty (ask first) i believe it is 10 years unlimited milage. only for the SBC control unit/pump.

if you buy the battery from benz they have no way to argue any warranty issues with the pump
