Default AUTEL DS708 versus Star Diagnostic system

Hello folks:

I have been reading a lot about the Star (C3, C4 and C5) diagnostic systems on various forums. Also recently, I had a chat with the Autel technical rep regarding their diagnostic systems (since I have owned a couple of their models and have been extremely satisfied with their performance and price!). Here are a few questions that ! would appreciate receiving your input.

1. Without unnecessary crapping on Chinese made goods, objectively speaking, has anyone used the Chinese made Star Diagnostic system? If you have had problem with them, what were there, and could they be resolved by the vendor?

2. Have anyone of you tried the Autel DS708. This is a more expensive unit, but can handle any car; which would be nice, in that it is more versatile. The question is that is it as capable as it is claimed to be?

3. Finally, where is the best place to buy a Star system from (those working with any computers).

Thank you for your advice in advance!

Farid

I own an Autel MaxiDAS DS808K, which has performed well so far. I haven't used star. I don't know whether it works. As for where to buy it, you can go to the official website or agent website.
