alternator fuse keeds popping, a/c economy light stays on... short??? 2000 S430
I have a 2000 S430. Two weeks ago i was driving home from work, running my a/c like normal, when i accidentally hit the "EC" (Economy Mode) button for my a/c... i thought nothing of it, and went to turn it off. It never did. The light just stays on, and on, and on, forever until i shut the car down. Then, when i start her up... ON...
anyways...
later that night, i was on the freeway when i noticed my headlights dimming slowly... then the fuel gauge... then the whole dash... then the battery light came on... then she shut down. The alternator was not charging the batt.
I looked at the fuses under the passenger side kick panel... the 60 amp fuse was blown . I happened to have an extra with me, so i replaced it with an 80. The next day, i was driving home from work, when she started the whole shut down process again... completely...
now i'm confused... what could keep popping that fuse? my subs were removed before i replaced the fuse... so it wasn't that.. all i can think of is that damn LITTLE RED LIGHT on my a/c economy button... could it be???
please help. this sucks ballz...
