Add oil message
 

Hi,

I had my Mercedes given a full service last week and in it I was supposed to have an oil change. The day after I got a message on my dash board to add 1 litre of oil. I got this message the day before the service and thought I might as well wait one day until it is given its service.

Does this mean I have been mugged off and an oil change wasn't done? I have been told by a friend that this usually happens because an oil change clears all the pipes and it takes a few days before you have to add more?

Any thoughts? Is this common or hasn't he done an oil change?

Either you have a faulty oil level sensor or the oil is just a bit low coincidentally. Many models do not have a dipstick so knowing the exact quantity can sometimes be hit/miss because many of the specs are incorrect from mercedes owners manuals
