abs activates with no wheel lock

abs activates with no wheel lock
New kid on the block and my 91 300e has an annoying habit of activating the abs just before the car comes to a complete stop. There is no warning light when this occurs (and yes the light does work). So far this has not caused a problem, but I wonder if it might in the event of a tight situation. Thanks in advance.
