96 e320 check engine light on

96 e320 check engine light on
I have owned my 1996 e320 for 6 mo. 106000 miles.
When driving on the freeway it started misfiring. I stopped an after a while it started running OK. But, the "check engine" comes on, and it constantly displays the message: "engine electronics" in the message display.
Any idea of what it may be? does anyone has had the same problem?. Help gladly accepted.

I'll bring it to a autozone and get the computer code. I'll then contact you for further info if OK with you. Not cheap, how much are we talking about?
