92 300ce running poorly

I have a 92 300ce

It has 160k on it. A month or so ago it started idleing ruff and spuddering. I brought it in and the tech changed the fuel injectors fuel filter and some other things. It lasted a month or so and it started again.

Yesterday the car (After sitting for a few days) started up fine and after a couple of minutes it started spuddering and running ruff. It actually died out and would not restart. Then today, it started again ran beautiful for a minute of so and then idled ruff and started studdering again.

This is driving me crazy because it will idle great at a traffic light and when I take off it actually acts like I shut off the power and then it will kick back in. Also when it sits and idles it will run smooth and the all of a sudden it will hiccup then when I press the gas (in park) it shakes. Its almost like its losing power.

Some days it will run just fine! This is driving me nuts.

Any ideas?:(

RE: 92 300ce running poorly

I have the same thing going on with my 260 series. I am having the fuel filter changed in the morning but my mechanic also said to change the plugs and wires. He said with the Mercedes Line, when the fuel line goes bad, it does something to the firing of the plugs... I have no idea if this is true or not though, but just a suggestion. Wish me luck because I am changing in the morning... pretty embarassing having a Benz that stalls... I feel your pain.

RE: 92 300ce running poorly

Simple things first, a friend had the same problem years ago and it turned out to be a blocked fuel tank air vent causing a vacuum, he loosened the fuel filler cap and it worked fine, it's an easy one to try.
